CHEVELLE: Lineup Change For Upcoming Tour

June 30, 2005

CHEVELLE have announced that bassist Joe Loeffler will not be touring with the band this summer.

"After three years of non-stop touring and recording, Joe is taking a break to be home with family," the group write in a statement. "We'll miss having him on the road with us, but as his brothers and bandmates we respect his decision and are looking forward to getting out there and playing for the fans. See you on tour."

Assuming bass duties for the band's summer shows will be former FILTER guitarist Geno Lenardo.

As previously reported, CHEVELLE and TAPROOT will be embarking on a summer club/theater tour that will kick off July 9 in Indianapolis. Also appearing on the bill are 30 SECONDS TO MARS.

CHEVELLE will be touring in support of their latest album, "This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In)" (Epic). Released last year, the album opened at No. 8 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 580,485 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
